I am now in my thirteenth year of teaching in public schools.  This is the tenth year teaching students from Wayland Union Schools.  Overall, I have taught students from four different school districts.  This has helped me to learn about different ways to do things well for the students.

My first seven years of teaching were at the high school level in the areas of math, science and computers.  The last three of those years, I taught at-risk ninth grade students from Wayland at the Math & Science Center in Allegan.  This was during the first three years of the very successful Wayland Union Skills, Employment and Technology (or SET) Program.

For two years I worked with elementary school teachers and students as Math & Science consultant for Wayland Union.  Each day, I was able to go into elementary classrooms to help students and teacher with math and science. That was a challenging position.  At the time, Wayland Union had five elementary buildings and about 70 elementary classrooms and teachers.

For the past four years, I've taught the students at Wayland Union Middle School.  I teach all the students how to use computers including how to type or keyboard correctly, how to make web pages, and how to create presentations with PowerPoint.  Over these years I've also led the middle school's award winning TV News Team.
