Marissa & Scott

Marissa, my sister, and Scott, my new brother-in-law, after practicing a bit of dancing a couple nights before the wedding.

Aaron Reading

I arrived at the wedding rehersal only three minutes before I was needed to read the poem, "The Invitation" by Oriah Mountain Dreamer.

Bean Bag Toss

I attempt to make a hole-in-one playing one of Scott's family's bean bag toss games after the rehearsal dinner. This game was a big win for Marissa's side of the family.

The Parents

Don & Ardith Sager (Kimberly's parents), Wayne & Sheila Wissner (mine & Marissa's parents), Dick & Bonnie Grossenbach (Scott's parents)

The In-Laws

I guess my parents might enjoy this shot because they can see all the "theoretical" grandparents... LOL

Siblings

Sunglasses keep the setting sun out and me in style. :-) I love that song as well. Its a bit hard to drive at night with shades... I don't recommend it.

Kimberly Happy

Occasionally, I'll catch a shot of Kimberly in the act of telling a story and get an animated picture!!! ;-)

Dad & Marissa

So, which features does Marissa share with dad? Is it the nose, or the tips, or the eyes, or the cheeks, or... hey, wait a minute!!! Maybe it's "all of thee above"... lol

Aaron Profile

It's funny that I don't see this view of myself very often. I never think of my profile or how a picture will look if taken from this angle.

Aaron Fixes Scott

Scott's vest looked a bit loose, so I took the opportunity to help my soon-to-be brother-in-law with a little men's fashion...

My Parents

My mom, Sheila, and my dad, Wayne, enjoy a not-so-private moment right before the ceremony begins.

The Bride

Marissa, all decked out and ready for her big day. Isn't she CUte??? :-)

Siblings Smiling

I snuck back into Marissa's dressing room just in time for a picture, and a chance to see all the bridesmaids in their fancy dresses.

Papparazzi

After noticing that no one else was video taping, I began lurking around, trying to capture the day, before it faded away.

Brother-In-Laws

I give Scott a bit of advice... "You haven't even learned any of the REAL family secrets, yet..." :-)

The Invitation

I selected this poem for the wedding after thinking about what would fit in the ceremony. I received about a dozen positive comments about my delivery and the choice of selection. :-)

Pastor Jabs

Marissa and Scott on stage for the wedding at the Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee, Michigan with Pastor Jabs.

Kiss the Bride

This kiss was sweet but unusually short... Still, it was the first kiss of their married life together!!!

Surprise Ending

After their introduction as Marissa and Scott Grossenbach, the backdrop on the stage suddenly lifted up, they stepped back to the curtain, took a fabulous bowing kiss, freeze framed for a good ten seconds, and vanished behind the lowered backdrop.

MARRIED!!!

Marissa and Scott sit in the audience of the theatre for one last look at the scene of the crime... so to speak... :-)

Cemetary Family

Dad, Mom, Marissa, Scott, Kimberly and I in our first family portrait together.

Six Years?

I'd been telling people that we had been married four years. Then Kimberly reminded me that it had been six --- plus seven years together before that... I guess underestimating suggests that it flew by.

Aunts & Uncles???

Some day, if children are ever born, this will be the aunt & uncle shot... :-)

Siblings-in-Law

Scott's brother just got married to his bride June. So now Marissa has a new brother-in-law AND a new sister-in-law... and so does Scott!

Readers

The three of us did the readings for the wedding - Sharon, Aaron, Susan.

Smiling Readers

My aunt Sharon (my dad's youngest sister), myself, and Scott's cousin Susan did the readings.

Sand Kiss

A bus took the wedding party around to the cemetary and then the Lake Michigan beach for some pictures including this tender moment.

Family Beach

My dad Wayne, mom Sheila, sister Marissa, and I are quite a handsome family, if I do say so myself.

Smiley Cousins

My cousins Angela Schafer (now Eisenlohr) and Jodi Eisenlohr both went to school with Marissa in Bear Lake. I've know both of them since they were about five years old.

Happy Aaron

Any day is a good day when I can sit with three beautiful smiling women!

Dance Kiss

As the new bride and groom entered the banquet hall, they had their first dance, and yet another kiss.

Tonsil Check

I don't know what was so funny, but I this picture makes me laugh, so it's all good.

Head Table

Marissa and Scott were stuck at the head table for over an hour. I, on the other hand, got to walk around and chat with folks! :-)

Maid of Honor

While Marissa didn't officially have a maid of honor, Kimberly did a few of the traditional duties, like hosting a bridal shower, standing closest to the bride, and recording gifts for the thank you cards.

Still Taping

I enlisted my cousin Alex to video tape during the ceremony. He didn't look very happy afterwards, because he learned how difficult it is to hold a camera steady while its zoomed in. I always try to get close so zooming is unnesessary.

Aunt Wendy

My mom's sister is aunt Wendy who telling me how great the reception is going. She is a grandma (see one of her grandchildren in the back), which makes MY grandma Richmond into a Great Grandma.

Close Up

Even though I looked like I was doing a lot of taping, I only recorded for about 30 minutes during the entire day. My cousin, Alex, did a nice job taping during the ceremony itself.

Marissa & Dad

Marissa's "Beast of Burden" Rolling Stones got dad going for the father daughter dance. I got my dance with the bride later in the evening.

Two Hams

This dance was quite a flambouant one. I didn't realize just how over-the-top my sister could be. Now I can feel my competative juices flowing... LOL

Tired Boy

My parents were exhausted and sitting away from the dance floor when I parked my head on their shoulders for a while.

Boogie

Marissa selected practically every song for the evening, and so she danced to most every one as well. The DJ brought about 300 CDs, but I bet he only used about ten.

Electric Slide

Yes, yes, yes... dancing with a group is a fun thing... and I guess that I'm actually somewhat happy that the Macarena and the Chicken Dance were left out in favor of some new hits.

Auntie Sharon

My aunt Sharon is a teacher as well and has fabulous comments from her students in Grand Rapids. She's only six years older than me, so she was a bit more into the line dancing than the rest of my aunts and uncles.

Tricky One

Don and Ardith were only up for the day before the wedding so I had to gather up all six of these parents, plus Kimberly, Scott, Marissa... and then a person to take pictures, just to get this shot.

Sunglasses at Night

My mom Sheila and my sister Marissa probably never noticed that I had my sunglasses on... But I made sure to mention to my parents to take off their glasses for the pictures the next day... These glasses will look very old in just a few years.

Make Her Up

Kimberly practiced applying make-up to Marissa at the bridal shower in July and took the opportunity at the hair salon to get everything just right.

Back Shot

Kimberly and Marissa are the two women that I will probably know the longest in my life, if we all live to ripe old ages, that is... :-)

Stage & Screen

Marissa chose the Ramsdell Theatre for the wedding for a couple of reasons. One was so that everyone could see them, since the stage is raised up. Another was for the excellent pictures in front of the classic drop.

Walking Spouses

Marissa has an affinity for the beach, as I think many people do. Lake Michigan is beautiful and a great spot for some photos.

Lake Kiss

Marissa & Scott fight the wind to find true love. :-) The remnants of hurricane Francis didn't overshadow the wedding at all! :-)

Bride's Maids

My sister and the bridesmaids at Lake Michigan beach in Manistee.

Grandmas Smile

My grandma Wissner, Scott, Marissa and my grandma Richmond; right after the meal.

Aaron & Jodi

My cousin Jodi and I after a bit of dancing!

Rod & Mom

My uncle Rod and his sister (my mom) have fun on the dance floor.

Aaron On Floor

Toward the end of the evening there was a song that required pounding and rolling on the floor... LOL

Kimberly & Aaron

Not just smiles... TIRED smiles :-)
