In my family, there is a legend that "Wissner" is not the original spelling. Frankfurt, Germany's 1999 phonebook listed 6 Wissner, 2 Wi[beta]ner, 2 Wismer, 1 Wessner, 5 Wesner, 7 Wiessner, 9 Wie[beta]ner, and 76 Wiesner.
