FROM THE PRESIDENT: If you missed
our last meeting, you missed a great lunch and an informative presentation by
Mary Christian, MEA-Retired President.
Plan to attend the meeting on Tuesday,
October 23 at 10:00 a.m. to hear Branko Bojicic from Blue Cross/Blue Shield
with an Insurance update.
As most of you are aware, the Michigan
Legislature passed many measures that are listed on the attached sheet sent
from Chuck Agerstrand from MEA. This legislation is devastating to future
educators. We need to keep pressure on
our legislators to maintain our health insurance benefits which are not
protected by the Michigan Constitution.
Continue to contact your representatives.
At the end of the newsletter is the
2007-2008 dues form. If you have sent in
your dues disregard.
