Martin Luther King Day is Monday, January 21st and the FPS schools are closed that day;
no school for students or staff. We originally scheduled professional development for that day
but it did not work out that way. Therefore, FEA staff is responsible for 6 (six) hours of
professional development on their own time. These 6 hours must be done during the school calendar,
Aug 28-June 13 because they are counted toward the state student instructional hours requirement.
I have included a couple of resources below that may be helpful.
Bargaining
Thanks to everyone who braved the elements and picketed the Board meeting
on Tuesday. Thanks, too, to those of you who wore red to work that day.
We appreciate your support! Attached is an open letter to the Board of Education
from our bargaining coalition. It is a response to a statement presented
by Board President Howard Wallach at the meeting on Tuesday.
