PAC

PAC: Essential for All of Us: Ourselves, our schools and our students!

No state budget.  Need to communicate our point of view to assure funding for our schools and our students.  Since we can't use dues money to advocate politically, we only have one essential option: PAC.  It's easy.* We can be involved in a dialog with our Reps. to make sure they represent us.  By contributing to PAC you make sure that we are part of the bargain.  Yes, you can contribute to individual candidates on your own.  (But, do you?)  Do they hear what is our position on graduation requirements, class size or our health benefits?   Everyone has a view on education and public schools but we need to get our opinions out there, to the decision-makers themselves.  We also need to contribute to local efforts for bond issues and school board candidates which share our point of view. For these  reasons and many more, PAC is Essential and a contribution of $40.00 makes sure our voice is heard.  And it's fun by contributing $25.00 or more by Oct. 1,  you  qualify for our drawing for  gift certificate to O'Charley's.  Essential, pro-active, informed reps.  What more can you ask?

*An envelope, for cash, credit card or check---- you can get this from your Building Rep., myself, Liz Murawski or Matthew Meyer.  Use the envelope provided at the general meeting....just get it into us right away. Doing the right thing means you are truly represented.

Quality Education,
Quality Teachers
Improved Funding for Public Schools
PAC meets the 4th Wednesday of each Month.

Your Contribution to PAC will assure that we have bipartisan communication on
educational issues assuring a philosophical majority at the state level, with
consistent understanding at the federal level and clear communication when we must
address ballot issues, our representatives and all officials who are elected and act,
making sure they understand what is important to us as teachers.

DID YOU KNOW???

  • 40% of your PAC contribution goes to local issues/local candidate support.
  • MEA/NEA supports both Republican and Democratic candidates who support the public
    education agenda with us.
  • Each contributing member may participate in screening and recommending process.

Consider contributing to PAC as if your school's funding, your certification, your
professional well-being, retirement and your children's education (or your students)
depended on it -- BECAUSE IT DOES!
