The sixteen units are committed to working together to maximize and protect salary, benefits, and working conditions for our members. The sixteen districts also provide mutual aid and protection for each other. If a board of education in one district were to fire and replace its teachers, the rest of the units would move to a job action to protect the jobs of those teachers. What   is Local 1 (MABO)?

 

Local 1 is a MABO, a Multiple Association Bargaining Organization. It is comprised of sixteen (15) teacher associations located in Macomb and Wayne Counties.
