U.S. History Class Syllabus
This year your 8th grader will be studying American History from Revolutionary times (the 1760's) through Reconstruction (1877) & the Industrial Revolution. Students will explore the many themes of American History including:
-Constitutional Government
-Expanding of Democracy
-Economic Development
-American Culture
Keys to Success
-Come to class prepared everyday
-Be on time for class
-Complete Homework & Projects on time
-Be Positive & involved in classroom discussions
Grading
Students will be graded on the following criteria:
-Participation & in class work- 10%
-Homework 30%
-Projects 30%
-Tests & Quizzes 30%

School grading scale will be used

-Textbook
-Any work that is due that day
-Notebook & Binder
-Paper & something to write with
-Positive attitude
Class goals:
-Acquiring & using knowledge about early American History & applying what you have learned to modern American.
-Using Critical Thinking skills
-Appreciate the history & culture of the United States
