Hypertext Transfer Protocol the standard method for communication between computers and the internet

Domain name

The beginning of a web address (URL) which determines the specific computer where a web site resides

Firewall

Software that is used to block unwanted external access to your computer or network

Podcast

Audio files distributed over the Internet that can be accessed on computer or portable media devices

Social Networking

Organizing individuals into specific groups online based on interest, age, gender or other categories

Search Engine

Online information retrieval system used to sort through and find information on the web

Citing

Giving credit to an author for any information used from their reports

PDF

A file format that has captured all the elements of a printed document as an electronic image that you can view

Acts as an intermediary between a workstation user and the Internet so that the enterprise can ensure security

Bandwidth

The amount of data that can be carried from one point to another in a given time period (usually a second).
