Summer Programs
This page will be updated as information is
received for Summer 2011.
Summer programs are a great opportunity to
earn college credits, try out different interests, check out college campuses,
and build up your college, job, or scholarship applications! You need to
apply early as most programs have limits and early deadlines.
Phillips Exeter Academy Summer School...applications
due March 1, 2011
July 3 - August 6, 2011...Students may
obtain catalogs and application packets by visiting their website
www.exeter.edu/summer.
Upper School--comprised of students who
have completed grades 9 - 12; enrolls some 450 students who come to us
from more than 40 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and several dozen
foreign nations.
Access Exeter--open to students who have
completed grades seven or eight; provides a challenging academic program for
approximately 250 students
Pratt Institute's Summer 2011 PreCollege Program...applications due April 1, 2011
July 5 - 29, 2011 This is a great
opportunity for students to explore the possibility of studying art, design,
architecture, creative writing, or critical and visual studies.
Students will stay on campus in Brooklyn and, upon completion of the
program, earn four elective college credits. The PreCollege program
consists of four classes, as well as lectures and cultural and social
events. Apply online at
www.pratt.edu/prostudies. Students must be at least 16 (by
June 30, 2011) and have completed their sophomore year, no older than 18,
and be self-motivated and responsible and willing to immerse themselves in
college-level study with other students who have similar interests.
CCRESA & SRESD Summer Camps for
students in grades 4 - 9
Chose from 11 sessions between July 13 -
August 19. Space is limited--register by June 21. Offerings
include: CSI Mystery Camp, Movie Star, Scratch Animation, RoboCamps, and
Multimedia News Hound. Prices are either $25 or $25. Questions,

applications.
Michigan Tech Youth Programs for students
in grades 6 - 8 and grades 9 - 11...applications are available at
www.youthprograms.mtu.edu.
Summer Camps: 6 - 8th graders
include programs in engineering, science and technology (forensic science,
etc), computing, outdoor and environmental studies, and humanities and
social sciences (photography). The programs last one week during the
month of July or early August.
Career & Adventure Explorations: 9
- 11th graders include more of a variety of programs in engineering, science
and technology, computing, outdoor and environmental studies,
humanities/business/social sciences, and leadership.
Engineering Scholars Program: 9 -
11th graders, June 26 - July 1, 2011...application deadline Apr. 1, 2011...This
program is for students traditionally underrepresented in engineering and
science. This program is a weeklong investigation of engineering
careers in areas such as mechanical, computer, environmental, electrical,
chemical, biomedical, civil, geological, materials, and related disciplines.
All selected participants receive a scholarship of over $1,000--the only
fees participants are responsible for is a $195 registration fee.
Women in Engineering: 9 -
11th graders, June 19 - 24, 2011...application deadline Apr. 1, 2011...This
program is for girls which are traditionally underrepresented in engineering
and science. This program is a weeklong investigation of engineering
careers in areas such as mechanical, computer, environmental, electrical,
chemical, biomedical, civil, geological, materials, and related disciplines.
All selected participants receive a scholarship of over $1,000--the only
fees participants are responsible for is a $195 registration fee.
2011 Ned Hallowell ADHS Summer Enrichment
Camp at the Leelanau School...July 18 - 23, 2011
For students entering grades 5 through
12, and adults of all ages. Parents will attend morning sessions with
Dr. Hallowell while students attend sessions with the Director of Education
at the Leelanau School. The cost is $950 not including accommodations.

The Leelanau School Summer Academy 2011...June
26 - July 23, 2011
Students attend classes 6 days a week for
4 weeks and can earn credit in any two of the following courses: math,
biology, English, history, government, and fine arts. Exploratory day
trips are taken once each week and there also afternoon activities.
Tuition, room, and board = $6,000, application fee - $50, Personal student

English as a Second Language Institute
