Early College

This site is intended to provide information and guidance for students that are participating the Early College program.  The Early College is the five-year high school program.  This differs from Dual Enrollment in that students will not receive their high school diploma until the end of the fifth year, assuming that all requirements for graduation have been met after that fifth year.  Please check this page frequently for updates.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Smith or Mr. Hegenauer.

Service learning/Community service...

  • Students must complete 100 hours of verified community service OR at least 40 hours of verified career exploration, internship, job shadowing or clinical experience.  Click below for a log sheet to help you keep track of your hours.  You may use the same log sheet for all of your hours or you may submit them to Mrs. Smith as you go.  These hours must be completed by the end of the fifth year.  Log Sheet

5th Year Students

The below information is only for those students in the fifth year of the Early College program!

Service learning/Community service...

  • Make sure you are completing your log sheets as explained above.  If you need help finding a place to do community service, let me know.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid...

  • The FAFSA applications are available online to fill out.  Go to www.fafsa.gov or go to my scholarships & financial aid page.  Remember, you will be enrolling as a first time college student/freshman even though you have completed some college credits.  You should double-check this with your specific college to make sure though.

Scholarships...

  • Again, you are applying for scholarships as a first time freshmen even though you have completed some college credits.  An ongoing list of scholarships I receive will be on my scholarships & financial aid page (on the private scholarships page)

Applying for colleges...

  • Don't forget to apply to colleges, especially if you will be attending a different college next fall.  If you will be continuing at the same college, you need to check with them to see if you need to change your status...from dual enrollment to freshman status.

  • As you apply to colleges, make sure you are requesting your transcripts to be sent via parchment on www.parchment.com.  If you need help with this, let me know.

Senior Exit Project...

  • Information for this will be coming in the early spring

  • Yes, you will need to give the presentation!
